To Battle Spirits players in all region, hello everyone. I am Battle Spirits producer, Nashimoto.

Tomorrow, April 11th, marks the release of the new game formats [Standard] and [Eternal]!
We sincerely thank all players for your cooperations and participation in the trial sessions and surveys.
We are grateful that we can welcome this critical juncture in the 18 years of Battle Spirits with all of you and will continue to stive to further increase the popularity and renown of the game.
In this Producer's Message, we would like to introduce the attractive aspects of the [Standard] format and indulge more details regarding out first large-scale event following the launch of the Standard Format, [Shin Kaihousai].
Also, we would like to talk about the highly anticipated upcoming 「Battle Spirits [Re] ZEKKAI NO KU」, which was announced during the recent 『BANDAI CARD GAMES Fest 25-26』. We hope that everyone can read till the end.

About Standard
Battle Spirits

[Standard] is finally about to be launched! With the reveal of cards from the [Entry deck]s and Booster Pack: [The Pulse of Genesis], many players have been looking forward to building new decks. Before we go into the details of the new products, we would like to explain our thoughts when it came to developing the [Standard] format. As we have said before, the goal of [Standard] is to "Have even more players enjoy Battle Spirits for even longer". While always keeping that goal in mind, we have tried various ways to rectify the increasing complexity of the rules and resolution, as well as the accelerating game speed, such as pacing out the implementation for new gimmicks, and creating means to increases the starting amount of life, this is the accumulation of 17 years of history, and it has been very difficult to rectify the root cause of the issue. As a result, we toyed with the idea of drastically resolving these issues by creating a new format. However, there is a unique appeal in Battle Spirits in the tension from reading each others moves that cannot be fully replicated in other games, and we would like players who have enjoyed this appeal so far to continue to do so, so we have made the decision to continue to support both [Standard] and [Eternal] formats.
We hope that players who have enjoyed playing [Eternal] to continue to do so, and hopefully pick up [Standard] as well, and invite your friends who have not played Battle Spirits before, or those who have stopped playing Battle Spirits to join in as well to help grow the community.

Many of you might have felt when looking at the cards from the [Entry deck]s and [Pulse of Genesis], that the cards in [Standard] are lower in power, and have shorter effects compared to existing Battle Spirits cards. Many might even feel that [Standard] might be lacking in comparison to the existing Battle Spirits. However, we have spent a long-time balancing [Standard] to "appeal to the masses and have deep gameplay". By limiting the card pool only to cards released from April 2026 onwards, lowering the barrier to entry by having not excessively complicated card power, and the introduction of new gimmicks such as [Second Main Step] and [Super Unleash], we continue to pursue ways to deepen the gameplay.

In addition, to rectify the issue where certain parts were difficult to understand, we have made changes to the card text. We took the opportunity of creating a new format to clear up some effects, such as those that were previously lumped together as [When attacking] are now clearly divided into [When attacking] and [While attacking], and effects that were unclear if they targeted Spirits or players now clearly state what their targets are. In addition, we have also simplified the text and modernized the phrasing. You might find it hard to get used to some parts, but we do believe it is now easier to understand.

Starting with the recent 「BANDAI CARD GAMES Fest 25-26」, [Standard Trial Session]s are being carried out at official shops nationwide. As those who have participated have already realized, [Standard] is deeper than it appears. [Standard] is rich with experiences reminiscent of [the good old days of Battle Spirits], such as the back-and-forth exchanges of increasing BP during Flash timings and deciding how many blockers to leave when moving into attack. We are not just going back to those days, [Standard] also improves on them with the introduction of new gimmicks such as the expansion of core management with [Second Main Phase] and [Super Unleash], as well as [Soul Magic] and [Succession]. We are confident that you will be satisfied playing the more accessible and profound Battle Spirits, so we hope you can invite your friends to join you!

6 Colors 「Entry Decks」
Released Simultaneously!

The 6 [Entry deck]s will finally be released tomorrow, April 11th! This is the first time we are simultaneously releasing pre-constructed decks for all 6 colors, and we hope that by doing so, players can start [Standard] with their favorite colors. Every deck contains cards that are sure to excel in [Standard], and we hope you can pick them up. We would now like to introduce each of these [Entry deck]s.

The red [Entry deck], [Blazing Gale Fang], focuses on the family: [Gale Fang] and excels in battle with draw and BP destruction effects! With plenty of cards with draw effects, such as when they attack, you can make use of your ample hand resources to rapidly summon Spirits to attack. Also, with many Spirits with BP destruction effects, it is a deck that is highly efficient at clearing your opponent's field. 1 of the key cards in [Standard], the Soul Magic [Flame Hurricane], can destroy Spirits of BP7000 or lower with just 1 Soul Core, and if your life was reduced that turn, Spirits of BP10000 or lower. In the current [Standard] card pool, it can destroy most Spirits, so make full use of this all-purpose [Flame Hurricane]!

The purple [Entry deck], [The Blood Awakeners]. focuses on the family: [Blood Awakener] and excels at removing opposing Spirits using core removal effects!
A staple effect of purple, core removal effects are different from BP destruction effects in that they can remove all kinds of Spirits. With plenty of Spirits that can remove cores from opposing Spirits when summoned or when they attack, proactively aim to remove your opponent's Spirits.
The Soul Magic [Soul Bite] sends 2 cores from opposing Spirits to the reserve. This card stands out amongst other core removal effects in that it can move the Soul Core, so use it at important junctures to shift the tide in your favor!

The green [Entry deck], [The Jade Sea Armored Fish], focuses on the family: [Armored Fish] and utilizes core boost and exhaust effects to battle! With plenty of Spirits that can increase your cores when summoned, use your abundant cores to keep summoning Spirits. The soul magic [Tentacle Attack] can heavy exhaust opposing Spirits, so it excels at disabling your opponent's powerful Spirits. With plenty of Spirits that can exhaust your opponents Spirits and refresh your own, reduce your opponent's life to 0 when they least expect it.

The white [Entry deck], [Fate of the Mineraloid], focuses on the family: [Mineraloid] and focuses on creating an impregnable defense by returning opposing Spirits to the hand! Bide your time by returning your opponent's Spirits to their hand to summon X Rares with powerful effects like [The Land Vessel, Mountaineer] and [The True Gatekeeper, Savatoma]. The Soul Magic [Defensive Gate] is a power defensive Magic that prevents your life from being reduced by a targeted Spirit. If your life was reduced that turn, you can nullify the attacks of 2 Spirits.
A deck that excels at control, we hope players who like to play meticulously will pick up [Fate of the Mineraloid]!

The yellow [Entry deck], [The Radiant Lightning Dragons], focuses on the family: [Lightning Dragon] and excels at using BP reduction effects! It is a deck with plenty of Spirits that have BP reduction effects when they are summoned or attack and can destroy opposing Spirits by reducing their BP to 0. In addition to increasing your advantage during Attack Step, by stacking multiple BP reduction effects, you can remove powerful opposing Spirits as well. The Soul Magic [Triple Thunder] can reduce BP by 2000 three times. Use this multi-purpose to reduce a single spirit or reduce multiple Spirits according to the situation!

The blue [Entry deck], [The Deep Azure Vicious Beast], focuses on the family: [Vicious Beast], using powerful effects that make use of Nexuses! With plenty of cards which activate power effects by exhausting or destroying Nexuses, aim to deploy your Nexuses early in the game. The Nexuses in this deck also have powerful effects, so if you can build up your advantage by deploying many of them early on. The Soul Magic [Stem Lance] can destroy cost 4 or lower Spirits, and by destroying your own Nexus, you can increase the limit of the cost you can destroy. You will be able to target all kinds of Spirits by destroying a high-cost Nexus, so use it at critical timings to turn the tide!

And so, we have introduced all 6 [Entry deck]s and introduced the characteristics of each color. We hope you will be able to find a color that suits your liking! We will also be holding special [Entry Deck Exclusive Meetup] tournaments around the region where you can participate using an unmodified [Entry deck] from tomorrow onwards! You can join this event with just an [Entry deck] without having to modify it with additional cards, so it is the perfect event for beginners. As a participation prize, you can get a holofoil version of cards that can be found in the [Entry deck]s. We hope you will participate in these events!

Battle Spirits Entry Deck

「BOOSTER PACKS
The Pulse of Genesis」

The first Booster Pack for [Standard]. [The Pulse of Genesis], will be released on April 18th! As the first booster in the new [Standard] format, there is a total of 144 types of cards in this set, more than the usual, so there is a wider card pool for everyone to build decks from! In addition, there is a total of 18 types X Rare cards, 3 for each color, each of these are powerful cards, and we hope you can get a hold of them! In addition to cards that can help boost the [Entry deck]s, you will be able to build new types of decks with cards from this set alone. There will be a variety of decks that can be built, each with their unique styles, and for players to be able to find one that best suits them. We would like to introduce the different types of decks that can be built using cards from this set.
May of the cards in [The Pulse of Genesis] have special [Keyword effects], and you will be able to build decks that revolve around them.

For red, you will be able to build [Clash] decks. [Clash] has been in Battle Spirits from the very beginning, we believe all players would be familiar with it. The key feature of a [Clash] deck is the ability to eliminate opposing Spirit through BP comparison by forcing them to block. It is a deck for aggressive players who like interaction. We are looking into bringing back existing keyword effects like [Clash] in the future for [Standard], so please look forward to it.

For purple, you will be able to be [Soul Manipulation] decks. [Soul Manipulation] is a new keyword effect that is introduced in [Standard]; it is an effect that can summon Spirits from a specified family and cost from the Trash. Most purple decks to date make full use of the Trash in battle, and we feel this is a typical purple effect. It is a deck that not only uses your hand but also your Trash as a resource and appeals to players who like having a wide variety of options.

For green, you will be able to build [Water Current] decks. [Water Current] is an effect where; by exhausting a Spirit with this effect, you can add 1 green symbol to a Spirit of the specified family and cost. By activating this effect multiple times, it is possible to add multiple symbols a single spirit and end the game with a 5-symbol attack. As a deck that can pull off 1-hit-kill attacks that would be hard for other decks, this deck is suitable for players who like finishing things off with a bang.

For white, you will be able to build [Amplification] decks. [Amplification] is an effect where; by paying 1 cost, a Spirit can receive BP+1000 for each of your Spirits of the specified family. In [Standard], where BP comparisons are very likely to occur, being able to have a BP advantage makes this effect very powerful. As [Amplification] can be used both when attacking and blocking, you will be able to continually apply pressure on your opponent both offensively and defensively. This deck would appeal to players who like stable playstyles that make use of this BP advantage.

For yellow, you will be to build [Magic Dictation] decks. [Magic dictation] is an effect that allows players to use the Flash effect of a Magic card of the specified family without paying the cost during the Flash timing of an attack. It is a typical yellow effect that is associated with Magic, and we foresee it becoming stronger each time we add expand the list of families that would benefit from this effect. As a deck that allows for the use of cards without having to pay the cost, it is suitable for players who like tricky playstyles.

For blue, you will be able to build [Rumble] decks. [Rumble] is an effect that, at the end of a battle, allows you to discard a specified number of cards from your opponent's deck. (If the attack was blocked, that number decreases by the cost of the blocking Spirit.). It is like the archetypical blue [Demolish] deck discarding effect and can reduce both your opponent's life and deck if the attack was not blocked. This deck allows for the choice between targeting an opponent's life or deck, and appeals players who like having flexibility in their game plans.

And so, we have introduced the types of decks that can be built using cards from [The Pulse of Genesis], but it is also possible to other decks, such as multi-color or never seen deck types. We will be revealing the full card list today, and we hope everyone can build decks that is unique to themselves. In addition, we will also plan to reveal SECRET versions of cards on our official X account from tomorrow onwards. In addition to Rare, Master Rare, and X Rare SECRETs, we will also be including a new type of [OVER SECRET] of cards that are even more exclusive than the regular SECRET versions of X Rares. We will be revealing the actual products, so we hope you look forward to them as much as we do.

Regarding Future Events

We have many events planned to create more excitement for the launch of [Standard]! First off, we have the [Entry Deck Exclusive Meetup] on the same day as the launch of the [Entry decks]. We also have the [Shin Kaihou Day] to commemorate the launch of [The Pulse of Genesis], where you will be able to obtain cards with alternative illustrations, so we hope can you take part in these event. We will also continue to have Shop Battles, of course! For the first [Standard] Shop battle, you will be able to an alternative illustration of the X Rare card [The Brilliant Avian, Rensis] from the [Entry deck] [Blazing Gale Fang], so do please take part in it. In addition, we will be having the [Battlers Cup]! In this tournament, the winner will be able to get an alternative illustration version of [Earl Dhampirion] with a specially designed frame, so we strongly encourage everyone to take part.

In addition, starting from late May, we will have the large-scale event, [Shin Kaihousai]! We look forward to seeing what deck manages to win the alternative illustration version of [Valdigaia the Roaring Wind]! In addition, there will be other subevents happening as well, so we hope you can invite your friends to join you at the event. We will be releasing more details later, so do look forward to it!

New TV Anime 「Battle Spirits [Re] ZEKKAI NO KU」
has been confirmed for broadcast!

At the recent 「Battle Spirits Championship 25-26 GRAND FINAL」, we announced the new TV anime series 「Battle Spirits [Re] ZEKKAI NO KU」 premiering in autumn 2026. Following the announcement of a new TV anime at last year's 『BANDAI CARD GAMES Fest』, it fills us with great joy and relief as we finally deliver the latest information regarding the series. Both [Standard] and [Eternal] formats will appear in「ZEKKAI NO KU」. Premiering at a time when Battle Spirits is about to be reborn, 「ZEKKAI NO KU」will feature all the goodness of all Battle Spirits anime to date, while also introducing a breath of fresh air to the series. For example, we hope viewers will be able to appreciate the innovation put into the title and logo, which is a departure from past Battle Spirit anime series.

The story of 「ZEKKAI NO KU」takes place in Edo, Japan, during a period of unrest that would later be know as the Bakumatsu. This setting combines a great turning point in history, the Edo period, and the beginnings of the new battle formats; [Standard] and [Eternal]. The protagonist, 「Bashin Kū」, is portrayed a young man who is drawn to Battle Spirits and seeks strength. One day, his meeting with「Ajara Zetsu」, a man labelled as an assassin, becomes a turning point for both mens' lives. Please look forward to what lies ahead for the [Standard] battler「Kū」and the [Eternal] battler「Zetsu」when their paths cross.

As in the trailer for「ZEKKAI NO KU」, the famous phrase in Battle Spirits; "Gate Open, Kaihou" is a key inspiration. What lies beyond the gate the two are about to open? In addition to new characters, what kinds of Spirits will appear? Do look forward to it!

Conclusion

Once again, I would like to thank everyone who has supported Battle Spirits. We would not have been able to witness the launch of [Standard] and [Eternal] without your support. We plan to continue to give our all so that everyone can look forward to our upcoming 20th anniversary, and to continue to enjoy Battle Spirits for time to come.

Not only will [Standard] launch in April, [Eternal]'s first product, [Eternal Booster Radiance of the Eternal Emperor] will be launching in May. In addition to the introduction of the new gimmick [Contract Nexus], the return of Twelve God Kings, and the promotion of Alternate X Rares to AX Rares, there is plenty in store for this set to bring [Eternal] Battle Spirits to the next level.

We plan to release more information as we approach the autumn premier of 「ZEKKAI NO KU」. Don't miss out on the launch of the new formats, the premier of 「ZEKKAI NO KU」, and continually evolving Battle Spirits!

Also, as a final message, I am announcing my retirement as the producer of Battle Spirits. I understand there has been some unhappiness regarding my involvement in 2 different titles midway. However, the Battle Spirits team, myself included, have given nothing short of our all. I do have my regret about leaving at this juncture, when [Standard] and [Eternal] are starting out, but I am certain the game is becoming more interesting, and 「ZEKKAI NO KU」 is working out to becoming a cool anime, so I hope everyone can look forward to it. Including my involvement as a team member, my 6-year tenure with Battle Spirits has been an invaluable experience. Thank you!
