Producer’s Message Vol.22
- #NEWS
- #Producer’s Message
Greetings to all players that have been playing Battle Spirits!
I am the producer for Battle Spirits, as well as from Berseker, Miyoshi.
『Battle Spirits [Re] Zekkai no Ku』 is finally on air! It has been 10 years since the last TV Animation,
how does everyone think about it??
Watching the battle scene in the anime, listening to the familiar [Gate Open, Kaihou] and [I will take the life],
I believe many battlers are feeling quite a lot right now.
The brand-new format, Standard, began in April and 『Zekkai no Ku』 begins airing from October.
I believe that this is the second starting line. In order to make Battle Spirits even more exciting,
we are pushing out new plans, and we hope that everyone will give us your support!
Now, in this producer's message, I will open with the charm with Standard Vol.3 booster pack,
[Conqueror of the Forbidden] , that will be on sale from 17 October.
I will also inform everyone of the upcoming events and topics
『Booster Pack
Conqueror of the Forbidden Realm』
Standard Vol.3 Booster Pack [Conqueror of the Forbidden Realm] will finally be on sale from 17 October! Apart from key spirits like [Blaze Phoenix, Zekuga] and [The Colossal Whale, Deep Caesar] that shown their prowess in the anime, there is also the revival of popular spirits from the past with [The DragonEmperor, Siegfried] as their lead. This set also has beautiful swordsmen with [Blade] and [Flower] as their theme and the contents this time is abundant. I will now introduce the brand-new decks that can be constructed from the different colors. Usually, I will be introducing the brand-new decks, but the Guardians have sufficiently shown the charm of the decks on [Conqueror of the Forbidden Realm Early Match Video] on the official Youtube channel. Please be sure to watch it!
Conqueror of the Forbidden RealmEarly Match Video
This time, I'd like to take a look at some notable cards for each color from the perspective of Berseker, who is eagerly awaiting the Vol.3 Booster Pack!
Red
First up, of course, is the key Spirit card of the protagonist, Ku, from [Zekkai no Ku] : [Zekuga]! With nothing but powerful effects, Zekūga is the quintessential protagonist card. When it attacks at Lv. 1–2, its 【Soul Awaken】 effect allows it to recover Soul core while also refreshing itself. Furthermore, at the end of a battle while at Lv. 2 in its True Kaihou state, it can reduce the opponent's life by 1. This makes it a powerful finisher capable of reducing the opponent's life by up to 3 in total. In addition to the familiar OVER SECRET version, Zekuga will also have an ultra-rare version, so be sure to make obtaining one your goal! That said, the key to the Blaze Wing deck is figuring out how to get Zekuga onto the field early. And [Harr Grease] has excellent synergy with it!
For just 3 cost with 2 reductions, this card is already very strong. On top of that, its BP increases according to the number of your own Blaze Wing spirits! It also has the EX symbol, making it a great fit alongside Zekūga, which has 《Succession》. Be sure to consider including both when building your deck.
The new Soul Magic, [Flame Storm], is another card you won‘t want to miss! It brings to mind Battle Spirits' early card [Flame Tempest]. It allows you to select and destroy up to 3 of your opponent's Spirits with a combined BP of 7,000 or less. If life has been reduced during the current turn, the combined BP limit increases to 10,000.Since this card has the powerful ability to destroy multiple opposing Spirits, the key to battle will be figuring out how to draw out multiple targets from your opponent and make the most effective use of it!
Purple
For purple, the standout impression is that the lineup has gained useful low-cost Soul Cards such as [The Assassin, Nidory] and [Gasha Hound]. When Nidory is destroyed at Lv. 2 in its True Kaihou state, it can select and destroy an opposing Spirit with a cost of 6 or less that is blocking it. This makes Nidory a troublesome Spirit that is difficult for opponents to defend against. Gasha Hound has a straightforward effect that lets you draw 1 card when it is summoned, but it is expected to play an important role as a valuable early-game draw option.
The new purple X Rare, [The Twilight Empress, Klamaglama], is another must-see card. When summoned, it can summon 1 Spirit from the family [Dark Violet] and a cost of 3 or less from your trash without paying its cost. The two Spirit Cards introduced just now also have the [Dark Violet] family, so they work exceptionally well with it! You can summon Klamaglama during your Main Step to increase your attacking force, or summon it during your second Main Step to deploy a defender and prepare for your opponent's next turn. It is a versatile card that can handle both situations. Use Klamaglama to strengthen your Dark Violet deck!
Now that it is returning in Standard, Desperado is another card to notice! [Sheiron Death],what a nostalgic sight! It retains the feel of the original Desperado, with a depletion effect that affects multiple Spirits. It also has 《Succession》, making it easier to summon. Previously, the ability to remove multiple targets in Standard was practically the exclusive domain of [Earl Dampirion]. But perhaps Desperado will become a force to be reckoned with from now on, too! Earl Dampirion can attack deal 2 damage, while Desperado offers energy acceleration and an energy-removal effect when attacking. Each has its own advantages, so choose between them according to the game environment and the deck you want to build. In any case, it seems like it will be best to place at least 2 cores on your Spirits from now on!
Green
First up is [The Colossal Whale, Deep Caesar], the key Soul Card of Kuu's rival, Ibuki! When summoned, it can create the [Swordish] tokens through its keyword effect 【Fish Army】. At Lv. 2 in its True Kaihou state, during your Attack Step, it can refresh itself by exhausting a Swordish. Instead of attacking with the Swordish, which have relatively low BP, you can use Deep Caesar—with its BP of 8,000—to launch repeated attacks. What an impressive display of being truly "invincible"! The OVER SECRET version features Deep Caesar in its True Kaihou state, which also looks incredibly cool in the anime. Be sure to get your hands on it!
Next, [The Sea Fan, Greasechicora] is another powerful card! At the end of its battle, you can return 1 card from your hand to the bottom of your deck to deploy 1 Swordish token. With just one card, you can reduce your opponent's life by 2 while also deploying a Swordish, making it an excellent partner for Deep Caesar. Furthermore, at Lv. 2 in its True Kaihou state, if a Swordish is on the field during the End Step, Greasechicora can refresh itself. This allows it to prepare for attacks during your opponent's turn as well, making it a card that performs exceptionally well on both offense and defense.
The new Soul Magic [Bubble Shield] is another appealing card! Previously, [Double Vortex] was one of the familiar Magic cards capable of exhausting multiple Spirits, but it could only target Spirits with a cost of 4 or less. Bubble Shield, by contrast, can exhaust 1 Spirit without any cost restriction. Furthermore, when used during your opponent's Attack Step, it can also exhaust another Spirit with a cost of 3 or less. This makes it a very convenient and versatile Magic card.
White
Overall, the white cards appearing in Conqueror of the Forbidden Realm have a strong defensive focus. [The Mishapen, Emeral] is one such example. Its effect is simple: once per turn, when blocking, it can refresh itself. But amazingly, at Lv. 2 in its True Kaihou state, it has 10,000 BP! With a cost of 6 and 3 reductions, you can summon it from relatively early in the game, making it a Spirit card capable of significantly restricting your opponent's attacks.
Next is [Ravage: Fallen Sun]. This is an excellent card for maintaining a presence on the field, as it cannot be targeted by your opponent's Magic effects. Its Lv. 2 effect activates during your opponent's Attack Step. You can select 1 opposing Spirit with a cost of 7 or less and 1 symbol, and for the rest of the turn, that Spirit can reduce your life by only 1. This is also a powerful countermeasure against Zekuga's attacks, making it a card you definitely won't want to miss!
The X Rare [The Specular Knight, Cavaliare] is another powerful card! During your Attack Step, at the end of the battle for one of your white Spirit in the refreshed state, you can select an opposing Spirit with a cost of 4 or less and return it to the bottom of its owner's deck! Furthermore, when Cavaliare attacks at Lv. 2 in its True Kaihou state, if you have at least 3 Spirits and/or Nexus from the family [Metascilicate], it can refresh itself. This means it can essentially achieve its effect on its own, without needing much additional support. On top of that, its BP at Lv. 2 in its True Kaihou state is an astonishing 12,000! With such high BP, Cavaliere can gain the upper hand in BP battles against most Spirits. It is sure to see plenty of use in white decks!
Yellow
[The Lightning Beast, Ellumineia] is another card worth noticing! It is a powerful option for the yellow Even-Cost Deck, which is built around cards costing 2, 4, 6, or 8. When Ellumineia attacks, if all your Spirit cards are of costs of 2, 4, 6, or 8 from the family [Yellow Jade], you can select an opposing Soul Card and reduce its BP by 5,000 for the turn. If its BP reaches 0, it is destroyed. Additionally, at Lv. 2, Ellumineia prevents all of your Spirits from being blocked by opposing Spirits with BP 3,000 or less. Granting all your Spirits the ability to bypass these low-BP blockers is an extremely powerful effect!
The X Rare, The Great Power, Biligrus] is another formidable card! This is also a Spirit card designed to excel in Even-Cost Decks. When summoned, it reveals the top card of your deck. If that card has a cost of 2, 4, 6, or 8, you can reduce the BP of 1 opposing Soul Card by 2,000. If its BP reaches 0, it is destroyed. And incredibly, this effect can be activated three times! You can target one Spirit to reduce its BP by a total of 6,000, or distribute the three reductions of 2,000 BP among multiple Spirits. This makes the effect extremely versatile! Furthermore, when Biligrus attacks at Lv. 2 in its True Kaihou state, you can summon 1 yellow Soul Card with a cost of 2 or 4 from your hand. If your life is 3 or less, you can summon it without paying its cost! This makes Biligrus a powerful finisher capable of aiming for multiple life reductions.
The Soul Magic. [Flash Run], works especially well with Biligrus! If all your Spirits are of costs of 2, 4, 6, or 8 from the family [Yellow Jade], you can refresh 1 of your Spirits with a cost of 6 or 8. Use this card alongside Biligrus to launch repeated attacks and finish the game in one explosive combo!
Blue
The new blue Soul Magic, [Sharp Thorn] is a powerful removal Magic card! It can destroy a Spirit with a cost of 4 or less. If life has been reduced during the turn, it can instead destroy a Spirit with a cost of 7 or less. Blue already has excellent removal Magic cards such as [Stem Lance] and [Merciless Blow], but this new addition will greatly expand the range of possible deck builds. Although its stronger effect requires life to have been reduced first, the fact that it can destroy Zekuga is a powerful feature in itself!
[Lushfalse] is another card worth watching, with excellent synergy with Spirits from the family [Blue Forest]. During your End Step, if you have a nexus with the familt Blue Forest, Lushfalse can refresh itself. Furthermore, at Lv. 2 in its True Kaihou state, during either player's Attack Step, it can destroy one of your nexus with the family Blue Forest to increase its BP by 4,000 during that battle. In the second set's game environment, the so-called Blue Heavy Deck, which combines cores with the family Blue Forest and huge Spirits, previously had difficulty getting its nexuses into play during the early game. Lushfalse costs 5, but if you destroy a nexus with its effect, its BP reaches 12,000! This means you can summon it early to keep your opponent's attacks in check, while also giving yourself more room to establish your nexus setup. It is a very useful addition!
The X Rare, [The King Eater, Alterhibius] is another card you won't want to miss! During either player's Attack Step, whenever one of your nexus, or one of your Spirits that was originally a nexus, is destroyed, Alterhibius can refresh itself. At Lv. 2 in its True Kaihou state, it also has an effect that allows your nexus introduced in the second set to become Spirits during either player's Attack Step. Blue has many decks built around fighting with nexuses, and Stem Lance can destroy your own nexus as well. This gives Alterhibius excellent synergy with a wide variety of blue decks!
That brings us to the featured cards I wanted to highlight. As I‘ve explained, Conqueror of the Forbidden Realm contains plenty of exciting cards!
The set has a rich selection of special rarities, including SECRET versions of cards from the anime Starter Decks, featuring different illustrations. A special SECRET version of the newly introduced [Blade Flower] cards, featuring silver foil stamping. The familiar ultra-rare OVER SECRET cards. An ultra-rare SECRET version of Zekuga. There is plenty to look forward to, so please consider purchasing the products and trying to collect these special cards!

Regarding Recent Topics
Next, I'd like to select a few topics that players have been curious about and answer them!I'll mainly focus on subjects that have been generating discussion on platforms such as X (formerly Twitter). I want to use this Producer's Message as an opportunity to share my thoughts directly with everyone.
Topic 1:
We want to recreate the battle
scene from [Zekkai no Kuu]
Hurry and produce red cores!
The anime Zekkai no Kuu finally premiered last week, and I think it introduces several new elements that distinguish it from previous Battle Spirits anime series. One of these is that battles use red cores, with the setting that blood transforms into Energy. After watching those battle scenes, many viewers expressed their desire to get their hands on red cores!
In fact, when we were developing the recently released Anime Starter Decks: (The Awakening of Blazing Phoenix) and (LeviathanWhale of the Abyss), we considered including red cores so players could recreate the battles seen in the anime. However, as you might expect, red cores and other so-called colored cores are quite expensive. Since we wanted to offer these anime Starter Decks at an affordable price, we ultimately decided not to include them.
Moving forward, we will continue to explore ways to deliver Red Cores to everyone, so we hope you will wait patiently. While talking about colored cores, I was reminded of something. I saw a post that said, "If you can get a Pink Core by challenging Producer Miyoshi and winning, does that mean Producer Miyoshi's blood is pink?"
My blood is red. And yet, I'm sorry I couldn't give you a Red Core.
Topic 2:
Will Odin be revived?
The booster pack 『Zekkai no Ku』, releasing on October 17, will bring back several nostalgic and popular Soul Cards,"Dragon Emperor Siegfried“, "Seven Demon Lords Desperado“ and "Iron Cavalry Emperor Yggdrasill".However, I've seen many posts asking, "Wait, what about Odin...?" Don't worry! Odin will also be returning in the near future! Odin is scheduled to appear in a product planned for release around spring next year.
Now we'll have both Siegfried and Odin together again... Please look forward to it!
Topic 3:
We will be producing Battle Spirits
Educational Videos!
For players returning to Battle Spirits after a long break with the launch of Standard, as well as those who became interested in the game through Zekkai no Kuu, we're planning to create tutorial videos focusing on the fundamentals of Battle Spirits strategy and how to win. We'll cover topics such as When you should redraw your opening hand, how to place and manage your cores and How to decide whether you should attack. We'll do our best to put the thought processes behind playing Battle Spirits into words and explain them as clearly and accessibly as possible. We hope these videos will be helpful to players, so please look forward to their planned release next month!
Topic 4:
Regarding Block Icon
We are aware that some players are concerned that cards with Block Icon A might no longer be usable starting next year. We're very sorry that our previous announcements weren't sufficiently clear and caused everyone to worry.
What we can say definitively at this stage is that Block Icon A cards will remain usable at least through fiscal years 2027 and 2028. Furthermore, it has not been decided that Block Icon A cards will become unusable in fiscal year 2029. We'll make flexible decisions based on future developments regarding both the timing of any changes and whether to introduce a so-called rotation system.
In short, please rest assured that Block Icon A cards will not suddenly become unusable starting next year!
Finally
I'm incredibly excited for the upcoming release of Conqueror of the Forbidden Realm! We'll also be holding Standard CS Qualifiers at Makuhari Messe. Casual matches will be available on the day, too, so everyone is welcome to join us!
Whether you've only recently started playing Battle Spirits because of Zekkai no Kuu, or you're someone who's thinking, "Maybe I should go check it out after all," we'd love to see you there! At the event the day after tomorrow, I hope to battle everyone using pink cores once again. Just as at our previous Kobe venue, if the livestream ends early enough, I plan to participate in the casual matches. I might even make a surprise appearance at some of the other activities!
I'm sincerely looking forward to playing Battle Spirits together with all of you. Please take care on your way to the venue, and travel safely!
